In all mechanical applications there is a need to use torque wrenches to ensure the correct tightening of bolts and fasteners. This is due to a number of reasons including ensuing sufficient tension that the fastener doesn’t loosen, prevention of stretching or breaking the fastener or bolt, applying correct pressure between the fastened materials for correct clearances, sealing of gaskets and also to ensure uniform pressure over materials to reduce stresses. Most torque wrenches however have mechanical parts themselves that wear and springs that lose tension naturally over time. We have found that depending on amount of usage, some types of torque wrenches become inaccurate after only a few years and that leaves you with a problem. Yes you are using a torque wrench to measure the correct amount to torque, but how do you know if your torque wrench is reading accurately and if not, how far is it out? TEX Onsite offer on-site torque wrench calibration and we can tell you on the spot how accurate your torque wrench is. We actually leave you with a full calibration certificate that you can refer to later and that you can also use to demonstrate compliance to ISO quality standards, which is now a requirement for most large industrial organisations. Ask yourself what is the point in making a measurement if the measurement itself is not correct, then ask yourself when is TEX Onsite next coming to you? At the same time we do your torque wrenches we can also look after all of your other measurement calibrations, lifting gear, portable appliances etc. Give us a call to keep your workshop accurate and ensure your customer’s equipment is safe, reliable and productive.
